A new article about Australian Idol 2006 finalists Damien Leith & Jessica Mauboy is now available.
Tonight saw the culmination of the third Australian Idol. For the last three months, contestants have been battling and belting out their biggest and brightest notes, in an attempt progress through the aggressive selection progress to make it to the grand final at the Sydney Opera House. What happened tonight, is sure to have gob smacked a vast portion of the Australian public. In some strange twist, Kate DeAraugo managed to out vote Emily Williams to win the grand final.
Kate’s performance throughout Australian Idol has been quite good, however compared to other singers – her overall package and skills were lacking. She has progressed through the weeks, by giving good performances and relying on other singers delivering an ok performance. As the competition crept towards the business end, her weaknesses were starting to show. Week after week, Mark would criticise her for not letting go of her voice, not connecting with the music, not transcending. Yet through all the criticism, the public continued to vote for her.
In stark contrast, Emily Williams has been delivering high grade performances week after week. She has received the ultimate ‘good job’ stamp (read: Touchdown!) from Mark no less than three times in the last few weeks. They suggest that she do something, next week she comes out and delivers it bigger and better than they could have imagined. Kyle went as far to say, that he hasn’t heard someone sing Whitney Huston, that isn’t Whitney Huston and make it worth listening too – yet he gives complements like that to Emily.
I have to believe that Kate DeAraugo has won Australian Idol, not through her ability to sing, nor her ability to perform – but in her Barbie Doll like appearance. No sane person could honestly believe that Kate was a superior singer to Emily, yet Kate stands in utter disbelief that she has won. The organisers of Australian Idol, need to some how factor in who is voting – not just the raw number of votes. Assigning the same importance to a 12 year olds vote as to an adults isn’t fair to the performers, they are just being cheated.
One can only hope that Emily Williams soars to the top, just like her amazing voice.
MAREE for starters …
Never once did I rubbish Kate in any way or the other respectful samoan women on this site, so right there you haven’t read any of the comments properly. Don’t talk about respect cos majority of our comments was standing up to all the racist remarks about samoans. If any person from any race was running down your nationality etc etc, would you not stand up for what is RIGHT?
Back your truck up love cos obviously you need to RE-READ from the top on how the racism began before you start talking about R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
MY MESSAGE TO : –
Dear Proud Polynesian Kiwi,
Sa’o lelei ia. Leai se faaaloalo!! Fia mamafa ia!! You see, I don’t know you from a bar of soap, but when it comes to issues like this, its amazing how cultural we really are e.g. P I Sista No. 1, yourself and many more. Why? Cos we care about who we are and how far we’ve all come!
God Bless you too and all the other concerned samoan sista’s / uso’s out there who have placed awesome feedback!! We all stand strong in what is right and appreciate all cultures!!
Goodness me, my comments was to Polynesian Proud Kiwi, not to you!! Hello???
See, now you have to bring up parents!!! Don’t you dare go there girlfriend!!! We honour our parents as without them we won’t be who we are today! You’re lucky that I’m only having to type cos you’ll certainly get more than that from me you inconsiderate person you!!
I don’t have to explain nothing to you cos I made it quite clear in my paragraph to POLYNESIAN PROUD KIWI of our purpose in life on this earth is. Did you read the word earth???
Being straight up??? I don’t know any one from a bar of soap on this site – sorry if that came across harshly, but its straight to the point!! However, from this site, I now know “true samoan women” who feel the same about racist remarks about our people as to why we are standing up what is RIGHT!!
Now you want to know the meaning of respect in samoan as per your last paragraph? FAA’ALOALO… Sa’o lelei ia means “that’s right”. Fia Mamafa means Wanna be tough!! Satisfied now?
Now go back and start reading the comments carefully again!! I KAN’T BELIVE IT!!
Welcome Tongan Pacific Islander – thanks also for your positive feedback! We are not racist – FULLSTOP! Hello there Black Cat, malo lava!!
To all AUSTRALIANS and other NATIONALITIES, samoans are not causing havoc regarding racism. This site was based on two beautiful women who got into Australian Idol. That’s how it’s going to stay!! R.E.S.P.E.C.T
TO PROUD2BAUSSIE
To be precise, that was me that mentioned “abbos”. Yes you are right about name calling, but hey love, what’s a mooksi? It only made me furious inside and naturally responded with that!
You finished off by saying : –
Anyway, all you hamos keep it real and don’t take too much attention to Bondy and her ‘mob’.
You’ve just contradicted yourself re the above paragraph!! Thanks for running samoans down!!
We don’t need to talk down other cultures just to make ours look better.
Whose talking cultures up or down?? We’re standing up for what is right!
Which NEVER works btw and will backfire triplefold.
Given up already??? Blessing is what samoans are after – TEN FOLD – It’s a promise from God!!
You keep it real!!
For me and my wife Emily sounded too much like Whitney Houston and for the love of god if ever there was an artist that was over bloody hyped in the 80s and 90s it was Whitney.
We don’t need another Whitney / Mariah / Celine – no more divas.
The final should have been between Lee Harding and Dan England in our opinion and whist the two ladies will probably get a lot of support from the public, we will be giving our support to Lee and Dan when they put out CDs.
Talofa ‘Keep It Real’, hope all is well, I completely agree with you. Some comments have not been read from the top which started all the arguements. Your points were aimed purely at Bondy and KT. I completely agree with you.
To Proud2BeAussie, malo lava.
I can relate to where you are coming from regarding Kate, And I too thought she performed well and consistently improved more and more each week. Marsha stated at a couple of times through out the shows that we should not base our votes purely because of ‘image’. I don’t think Emily looks like a man, she may have that look of tough exterior, but in saying this her voice is what makes her gifted talent shine above all else. She is far from handling the media and their questions. Yes, sometimes she will come from a different perspective overall. I am a little lost , what did she actually lie about?
As far as I know she was on radio, television answering all types of questions which would have been completely new for her. I saw her interview with Kyle and Jackie O saying that she was uncomfortable with her daughter Asia being the centre of the conversation. She did say that she didn’t want Asia to be the core of focus in the media.
‘Keep it Real’s’ comments regarding Aborigine’s was purely from Bondy’s verbal abuse from her comments above. Naturally she opted to defend her culture to let Bondy know her comments were just too personal about Samoans in general.
Big Hello to Black Cat/ P I Sista No 1/ Tongan Pacific Islander and Keep It Real who’s been going hard out defending Samoans overall. We do need more Whitney’s / Mariahs/ & Celine’s, they are strong women who have sold millions and why? Because they are enjoyed by those who love to hear them sing.
Ooops , got carried awaysorry Keep it Real, this is Proud Polynesian Kiwi at 2.59 / 7 Dec 05
Talofa ‘Keep It Real’, hope all is well, (hopefully this came through).
I completely agree with you. Some comments have not been read from the top which started all the arguements. Your points were aimed purely at Bondy and KT. I completely agree with you.

I don’t think Emily looks like a man, she may have that look of tough exterior, but in saying this her voice is what makes her gifted talent shine above all else. Her voice may not be to some as good as Mariah, Whitney etc but she did well even coming in 2nd place. She maybe out of her league from handling the media and their questions. Yes, sometimes she will come from a different perspective overall.
I saw one show where she was on television during her interview with Kyle and Jackie O, saying that she was uncomfortable with her daughter Asia being the centre of the conversation. She did say that she didn’t want Asia to be the core of focus in the media. Remember the interviews, questions is something that she’ll improve over time. I’m a little confused what did she lie about?

The variety of performers through out the show has been from a diverse range of musical styles and taste.
Keep It Real,
To be honest, I couldn’t follow your latest post because I couldn’t work out the core key of your arguement but I’ll try and pick out the pieces I do understand.
I’m not quite sure where your anger is aiming at, I just stated what I KNOW my Aborigine friends wouldn’t like to be called, which is ‘Abbo’. As for mooksi, I don’t know what that is, or what is means, so therefore I won’t comment cos I don’t have a clue.
I think that you have misinterpreted the actual basis of my comments.
Where I live, ‘hamo’ is what we call those who have some samoan blood. A hamo can say it to another hamo, but if your not one, you don’t. Simple as that. You tell me where the ‘contradiction’ is in that.
Heres what I said in my previous post;
“We don’t need to talk down other cultures just to make ours look better. Which NEVER works btw and will backfire triplefold.”
You have misread my comments once again. This was referring to Bondy and her ‘mob’ who were hurling verbal abuse from goodness knows where. Seeing as they felt the need to put down ‘Samoans’ to make themselves look better. NOT the other way around. The triple fold comment was directed to them as well. They will get what they have been saying about Samoans back ‘triple fold’. I did put ALL of these thoughts in one paragraph for the sake of this happening.
Do you honestly believe that I would rather put my own cultural background down for the sake of others? How low do you think I am? Do you think that I don’t get angry and frustrated as to why people would say things about MY ethnic people? Of course we all have different opinions about the world and certain things happening within it, but I know, as a person with Samoan heritage, that when someone verbally abuses that part of my life and my being, there is no two ways about it, I would be doing what every other Samoan person would be doing, defending the heritage and ethnicity that makes us unique.
Please don’t mistake that for one second. I DID NOT put Samoans down and if you would only take the time to read things with an open mind you wouldn’t have been mistaken.
I shouldn’t feel the need to even explain myself. But hey some people need to be repeated to fully comprehend the contents of my comments.
Being born and bred in Australia, I am proud to say my nationality is Australian, and I feel obliged at times to stick up for the natives of this country and the way they have been treated, but I know my blood is of Samoan heritage( me mum is) and for that reason, I hold it dear to my heart.
And that’s why it kinda hurts hearing things like, I put Samoans down…..because that ain’t me.
To those who are going to bother replying to this post, Make sure you get it right.
God Save the Queen
God Bless Australia
And in God we Trust Samoa
PROUD2BAUSSIE………..
Once again, if you don’t know what mooksi means, then obviously go back and read all previous comments properly before you think you can call any samoan gal hamo okay?
Your paragraph stated “to all you hamos”, is so down-grading.
The word hamo to me is “fresh”!!! You can use that terminology to people you may be close to, but I don’t know you so be careful even how you use that word!! How well do you know your samoan heritage? What have you been taught to think that word is acceptable to use? Its what you call someone that is way below “par” – in other words “fresh”!!!
If you are amongst friends and family who jokingly use that word is okay, but that word can actually get you killed if you say it to the wrong samoan!!
If you stated that from the start that your comments was directly to Bondy, you should’ve said that.
I certainly got it right from the start love!! I was born in Samoa, but brought up in NZ which is now my home.
Open mind??? One thing, if your samoan heritage is that strong, you would sincerely think twice about how you use your words!!
I agree with Proud Polynesian Kiwi who has such grace with how she puts things into perspective is humbling.
Only takes some one like you who has not READ clearly how all this racism came about.
Stay proud of being Australian, cos I don’t know you and really don’t care even if you are half samoan. Go and learn your samoan heritage a little more so you can understand faaaloalo (respect).
You are so sarcastic by saying “make sure you get it right, nah just keep it real (not fake)!
GOD SAVE YOU!!!
I know more than enough about my heritage. I mean, what the? where do you get off making stupid comments like that?
That’s what ‘hamo’ means to YOU. Obviously not ALL Samoans agree with you so lets just leave that at YOUR doorstep okay? The way I use ‘hamo’ with my friends and family is just like an African American saying ‘ whats up mah nigga?’ to another African American. What? You don’t like being called fresh? I get called that all the time, ( freeysh as my friends would say) I don’t get offended at all. My comments are downgrading to YOU but not to the hamos I know.
And like I said before, I don’t know what ‘mooksi’ MEANS so therefore I won’t bother commenting on something I don’t KNOW ABOUT. You scroll back up and find me a sentence where the meaning of mooksi is explained. As far as I know, its a derogatory word. But one which I don’t know the meaning of. Tell me what it means since you seem to know.
Here’s the paragraph that you seemed to be confused about.
Anyway, all you hamos keep it real and don’t take too much attention to Bondy and her ‘mob’. We don’t need to talk down other cultures just to make ours look better. Which NEVER works btw and will backfire triplefold.
Thats why I use paragraphs. Instead of S P E L L I N G it out for everyone, I just naturally thought that EVERYONE knew what a paragraph is. Its a number of sentences that often contain a similar subject. Once that subject is addressed, you start another subject or opinion, hence the change of paragraph. Why should I change my paraphrasing to accustom your level of intellect? If you can’t understand it, its not my problem, as it seems to me your the only one with the problem about it.
And how the hell would you know how strong my Samoan is? Don’t make assumptions.
You live in NZ, I live in Australia, we have our lingo and the way we use words, and I’m sure you do as well. Your meanings are different to the ‘hamos’ here in Australia so until you live where Im at, and understand the country I’m living in, you opinion means nothing to me. Its an opinion of a person looking in, not an opinion of person looking out….you do understand that right?
Don’t talk to me about fa’aaloalo. You don’t know the meaning of it. As clearly shown by comments towards me. ‘hamo’ may not be respectful for you, but who are you to tell us living here how we use the word? Has this world of political correctness affected you somehow?
You said,
Only takes some one like you who has not READ clearly how all this racism came about.
Ummm….what the???? takes someone like me to what? Sheesh, who sounds racist?
Why do you feel the need to personally attack me? Show me where have I PERSONALLY attacked you in regards to your ill educated comments about me.
That’s what I mean about READ THE WHOLE BLOODY THING AND UNDERSTAND IT FOR PETES SAKE before replying with ridiculous assumptions about my heritage. ( amongst other things)
Se faikau seia e malamalama faalelei ile uiga o au kala ae aua le faapisa fua le mea.
That Samoan enough for you? Stop making assumptions.
No, I wasn’t being sarcastic about my comments. There you go again, ASSUMING things.
I mean exactly what I write. And I make sure I UNDERSTAND what I write before doing so.
Like I said, make sure you get it right. Don’t put out an argument about a large part of my life based on your opinion. It shows the depth of your shallowness.
Again, if you understood what my comments were being directed at, we wouldn’t be exchanging words of the sort like this. But I’m afraid you brought it on yourself.
For goodness sakes, grow up. You are the one who is taking everything I’ve said out of context and I really don’t understand the reason why. Everyone else seems to acknowledge it but YOU.
I’m proud to be Australian, and I’m also proud to be Samoan. My mother has taught me a lot about her ethnic background, and that is justified by the priorities and values I uphold within my family and community. My father is Vietnamese, and I’m proud to also know his ethnic background as I have also upholded some of his values and beliefs. But that doesn’t make me any less of a Samoan than you are.
Does ‘hamo’ really mean below par? Is that the ACTUAL definition of it or is it YOUR definition of it?
Put foward a subject worth debating next time.
Go Kate, you rock!! And who said she wasn’t going to make it? She’s number 1 this week on the charts with ‘Maybe tonight’.
Finally
Proud Polynesian Kiwi,
Utmost respect for you for keeping it real in here. Heres my thing with Emily;
Throughout her idol auditions and the process of idol, SHE was the one who brought her daughter into the media’s attention. She was the one who showed all of Australia the photo of her daughter, she dedicated a few songs and her WHOLE entire Idol journey to her daughter. So it was only natural for the media to ask, as to how her daughter was and her whereabouts. No one probed into anything, SHE made her the centre of attention. And when people started to ask, innocently may I add, why she doesn’t bring her daughter to idol like the previous contestants, or why she hardly mentioned her during the final 13, she started getting agitated and angry, saying she doesn’t want to talk about her daughter. She described herself as a single mother that struggled to make ends meet.
She see’s her child every second weekend, so thats like TWICE a month. Her baby’s fathers grandparents are looking after her. She lives with her boyfriend. They both work, and in Australia, forklift driving usually attracts a fairly attractive salary, paying at least over $20 per hour. That’s more than the average Australian earns. I deal with people that are TEN times worse off than she is. Im kinda sick of hearing about Kate won the sympathy votes. If any of you have been watching, Karl made the tuck shop lady comments, Kate didn’t promote it or even commented past a few sentences about it.
There are other things I’ll comment on later as I am getting a bit long winded.
God Save the Queen
God Bless Australia
And in God we Trust Samoa
PROUD2BAUSSIE…
Long winded??? Damm right!
You tell me about what you think the word “HAMO” means? There are other words to use in samoan, idiot!!
And as for Kate hitting no.1? Good on her!! No-one’s disputing her gifts & talents. Hello??? It only took her 3 times to get there! Mmm… Only took Emily once to get 2nd spot and recognised now.
First of all, my grandfather composed the Samoan Anthem so please don’t go there with knowing your samoan heritage. The minute you stand up to sing “Samoa Tula’i”, just remember the meaning of what you’re singing okay? In english? Banner of Freedom!!
Fiapisa?? Chill man!! Actually, you’re starting to sound no different to Bondy & Diplomat, finding pathetic issues about Emily as well. What’s wrong with earning that money? That’s yours for the taking as well. No-one stopping you to get out there in the workforce to earn the same amount or even more.
Emily got on the show because of her talent! Not cos her lifestyle!! Do you have children? If you don’t, then you shouldn’t comment!! Its hard work to try and provide for your family and sometimes you have to take certain measures to do these things. That’s why if you knew your culture properly, most samoans have their grandparents etc for support. At least its not strangers looking after her little girl.
Prying into people’s lives is not good for the soul love… That’s a fact!!
God save the WORLD love, not just the 3 you keep finishing on! KAN’T BELIVE IT!!
Keep It Real,
You said,
And as for Kate hitting no.1? Good on her!! No-one’s disputing her gifts & talents. Hello??? It only took her 3 times to get there! Mmm… Only took Emily once to get 2nd spot and recognised now.
Why do you talk about things that you know little about? Emily auditioned LAST year also but didn’t make it past the first auditions, ( I have the tape to prove it)….so I’d like to know where your getting your info from. Yep she got recognized last year than did she? And for your information, there are ALOT of people disputing her talents on here. Take your own advice and read all the comments.
You said,
First of all, my grandfather composed the Samoan Anthem so please don’t go there with knowing your samoan heritage. The minute you stand up to sing “Samoa Tula’iâ€, just remember the meaning of what you’re singing okay? In english? Banner of Freedom!!
So what? That has NOTHING to do with heritage. Heritage is what our FOREFATHERS and ANCESTORS built their culture on. If your definition of Samoan heritage is having a grandfather compose the national anthem then I suggest YOU learn a little bit more about Samoan heritage.
You said,
Fiapisa?? Chill man!! Actually, you’re starting to sound no different to Bondy & Diplomat, finding pathetic issues about Emily as well. What’s wrong with earning that money? That’s yours for the taking as well. No-one stopping you to get out there in the workforce to earn the same amount or even more.
Who said there was anything wrong with earning money? Like I said in my previous post, your a person with a view from the outside. You will NEVER understand the full depth of my comments until you have SEEN the FULL unedited cut of the show so don’t even go there. I am a mother of two young children , ( Ages 4 months, 17 months) who I love dearly and would not give them up for ANYTHING. And I mean ANYTHING. So thankyou for your analysis but once again you have misinterpreted the moral of my comments.
Tell me, is it pathetic to show the whole of Australia your daughter, talk about her during the idol process and how you dedicate your whole idol journey to her, and when people ask about it, you withdraw and say, ‘ I don’t want my daughter in the media, I want to keep her out of it’. What is pathetic is the way she contradicts herself on camera.
Is it pathetic to say, ‘I’m a single mother who is trying to make ends meet’, and yet, you see your child TWICE a month? And her daughter lives in ANOTHER STATE.
Is it pathetic to say, ‘tell your kids that you love them, keep them close to you, hug them and kiss them every night so when they wake up in the morning they know that they are loved’, and yet she doesn’t even live with her daughter and excercise what she talks about? How could you give out advice to the Australian public when you don’t do it yourself? Emily talks it, but she doesn’t walk it.
Would you say, ‘ try to make ends meet’, knowing you have a well paid job ( by Australian standards) and have a boyfriend who also works and earns a decent salary? And not to mention she lives in a area with fairly cheap accomodation. where does ‘ trying to make ends meet’ fit into ll of it? There are A LOT of people who are worse off than her and yet she makes her situation sound like she was battling. Another contradiction.
Emily’s attitude and the constant foot in the mouth comments made on national television AND radio is the reason a lot of people turned away from her.I doubt you’d know anything about this because you don’t even live in Australia.
And its probably the reason why no record label wants to touch her. She hasn’t really helped her image by saying things before thinking about the consequences.
And you base your arguements on what? Your judgements of Emily from ashore? Even though you admit yourself you haven’t seen the show? Not to mention all the extra Idol shows that run during the week?
You tell me how is it that you can judge what Emily’s persona was in the show when you haven’t seen it? And yet you have the audacity to say what I say about her is pathetic? Take a look in the mirror honey.
BOTTOM LINE TO YOU PROUD2BAUSSIE…
Answered my question yet? Or too maaaa to admit what HAMO means!!
Yes you are right that NZ never got to see Aussie Idol No. 3 and no I didn’t know that Emily tried out last year. Apologies for that!!
You have stated your opinion about Emily, but don’t rubbish her by making her out to be some immature self-centred young samoan gal. You have no idea what she’s been through Miss Perfect who must live a luxurious life.
Look whose angus now? Let go of your own hang-up on Emily. What goes round, comes round even if Emily is doing wrong in Australia. What person is perfect love????
You take a look in the mirror and analyse your own life before exposing Emily’s whole life story on-line!!
Where’s your God Save the Queen, God Bless Australia etc etc… not so godly now??
Hey…Hey,
To all the Emily Williams fan out there I have just gotten news from Grundy television the makers of Australian Idol that Emily Williams has got a recording contract with Sony BMG. Emily is in the process of finalising the contract and dare say you will be hearing from her in the new year with a huge BANG, cause she is gonna rock this casbah with her phenomenal powerhouse voice……………….YAY Emilyyyyyyyyy you go gal show them how it’s done. Can’t wait till she releases her c’d, those who have trashed Emily……well I guess I will finish with saying go BITE ya arses……………cause Emily ROX
After reading all the comments written all I have to say is that everyone is just talking absolute crap that will not change anything. Kate won because that’s the way it came out and there is nothing you can do about it now so build a bridge and get over it. There is more to life then constantly arguing about people of who won Australian Idol.
Are you blind? Do you actually read what I write? Why the hell would I should be maaaaa for?
Read #157: ‘‘hamo’ is what we call those who have some samoan blood. A hamo can say it to another hamo, but if your not one, you don’t. Simple as that.’
And YOU haven’t answered the questions I’ve asked you. What does mooksi mean? Do you even know what language it is? Go on then, tell me.
I’ve noticed you seem to dodge the questions that are being asked.
I understand you being defensive because your ‘standing up’ for Emily because she is a Samoan. But why bother trying to defend things that you don’t know anything about? Like I said, you don’t live here, you haven’t seen the series, you haven’t listened to the radio stations here, so why are you even BOTHERING to reply when you haven’t a clue what the story is. Hahaha you need to R E A D and U N D E R S T A N D my comments before jumping the gun. Are you so clueless that I have to repeat things over and over? UNDERSTAND what you READ before posting mate.
You said,
You have stated your opinion about Emily, but don’t rubbish her by making her out to be some immature self-centred young samoan gal. You have no idea what she’s been through Miss Perfect who must live a luxurious life.
Look whose angus now? Let go of your own hang-up on Emily. What goes round, comes round even if Emily is doing wrong in Australia. What person is perfect love????
I ain’t going to say nothing but READ MY PREVIOUS COMMENTS and POSTS because obviously you don’t. But if you want to understand the reasons of my opinions, then I suggest you do, otherwise your a lost cause. Don’t make ASSUMPTIONS. Crikey, your showing everyone your good at that ain’t you now?
You said,
You take a look in the mirror and analyse your own life before exposing Emily’s whole life story on-line!!
Geez you really are clueless aren’t you? Emily ‘exposed’ her own life on national television. And my life is very happy and fullfilled, thankyou. So nothing I’ve said is anything new. But than again, to clueless people like you, it is. Emily put her own life story in the spotlight as soon as she mentioned it on national television. GET IT RIGHT.
Your posts contain substance of little relevance to anything. Just a little advice for you;
R E A D and U N D E R S T A N D the meaning of things. Then your comments wouldn’t sound like a person blowing fire into freezing cold water.
READ AND UNDERSTAND, READ AND UNDERSTAND, READ AND UNDERSTAND.( notice I repeated it many times so you don’t make ASSUMPTIONS about my comments again)
You said,
Where’s your God Save the Queen, God Bless Australia etc etc… not so godly now??
I am not godly nor have I claimed to be. But just to take the piss outta ya;
God Save the Queen
God Bless Australia
And in God we Trust Samoa
There you go again! Bottom line? Grow Up Love – lot to learn! You don’t even know what a hamo is, then obviously you accept your homies to call you that cos that’s what you are – FRESH!!
I don’t know what mooski means – Bondy mentioned it!! See??? You haven’t read shit!!
You’re not godly? No wonder your own comments are meaningless! You have your opinion, keep it that way! Don’t abuse God’s name then, otherwise you’ll piss him off!!
Last of all PROUD2BAUSSIE… LET’S SETTLE THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!
Whatever has happened in Australia, its true, I admitted my mistake and apologised for that!
Before you even knew Emily’s name, she was raised in NZ so I know a little more than what you really think!!
As Proud Polynesian Kiwi said further up : –
Emily maybe out of her league from handling the media and their questions. Yes, sometimes she will come from a different perspective overall.
Emily is still growing so you’re going to expect some flaws with her. Just think you’re probably older than her and have experienced more in your life.. You put yourself in her shoes, don’t you think whatever you will say will also be mis-interpreted?
If no-one signs her up, then its going to be a hard lesson for Emily to learn whether she HAD a great voice or not!!
Yes, there were other 12 great contestants in Aussie Idol and disappointed NZ didn’t televise this one. UNDERSTAND, my input from the START was based on racist remarks and you sparked it off for ME by saying all of you hamos!! Not nice – okay?? You say you know your samoan heritage, then learn to appreciate that some samoans don’t like being called that!! I really don’t care what Bondy means about a mooksi is cos she / he never explained it!! Maybe its a good thing I don’t know.
You being a mum should be more understanding and realise Emily’s only young and probably naive at the same time.
Emily as well as her older sister is well known in NZ, but I didn’t think that all this “negativity” towards her would be SO bad!!!
I MYSELF IS A MUM AND WOULD BE SO GUT-WRENCHED THAT PEOPLE OR THE MEDIA COULD BE SO CRUEL BY PIN-POINTING EVERY WRONG WORD MY CHILDREN SAID ESP SINCE YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW THEIR FULL HISTORY OF WHY MAYBE EMILY IS THE WAY SHE IS!!
JUST THINK – EMILY HAS A MUM TOO. IMAGINE WHAT THIS IS DOING TO HER!!! THAT LADY HAS BEEN TO HELL AND BACK!!! At least the most precious people in Emily’s life were there to support her!!
Keep It Real,
Here are a few of your posts regarding this whole ‘Hamo’ fit you seem to be having. YOU seem to be the only one with the problem.
#152;-
I said,
Anyway, all you hamos keep it real and don’t take too much attention to Bondy and her ‘mob’.
You said,
You’ve just contradicted yourself re the above paragraph!! Thanks for running samoans down!!

Once again, if you don’t know what mooksi means, then obviously go back and read all previous comments properly before you think you can call any samoan gal hamo okay?
Your paragraph stated “to all you hamosâ€, is so down-grading.
The word hamo to me is “freshâ€!!! You can use that terminology to people you may be close to, but I don’t know you so be careful even how you use that word!! How well do you know your samoan heritage? What have you been taught to think that word is acceptable to use? Its what you call someone that is way below “par†– in other words “freshâ€!!!
If you are amongst friends and family who jokingly use that word is okay, but that word can actually get you killed if you say it to the wrong samoan!!
Okay, if this is such a ‘degrading’ word, why is it loosely thrown about and used by Samoan people to describe themselves?
Type ‘hamo samoan’ in any search engine and you’ll realise its not ‘degrading’ as you keep insisting it is.
You need to check your comments before making an ass out of yourself.
Keep It Real,
You said,
You’re not godly? No wonder your own comments are meaningless! You have your opinion, keep it that way! Don’t abuse God’s name then, otherwise you’ll piss him off!!
What is abusive about God Save the Queen, God Bless Australia, And in God we trust? Where’s the use of abuse in that?
And yes I’m not godly, but who is? Are you godlly? Because if you are you must be a SAINT that has never committed sin. Which we all know is a load of bollocks because NOONE in this world is anything near godly. And since that is true, you are saying your own comments are meaningless as well!!
You need to keep track of what your saying, because you seem to contradict yourself even more.
Since you are withdrawing without basis for your arguements, I will say this;
I only made the comments about Emily because I was explaining the reasons why I didn’t vote for her.
Just because I don’t like the way she contradicts herself all the time, it doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate what a great talent she is. Her personality for me = Stinkarooni. But her voice is one of the best I’ve heard in Idol, without a doubt about that. And I do think that some producer would eventually snap her up, but right now it doesn’t look that way. But I wish her well and hope she gets what she wants out of this.
Australian Idol is someone with the whole package;- Emily IMO had one trait going for her. Her voice.
And lastly, lets just say I know a lot more than Im admitting. My cousin grew up with the boyz of Adeaze. And it just so happens Adeaze were headlining for Ma V Elle at that time, when they travelled to the area my cuz and she did mention to me that Emily toured with Ma V Elle as a third singer to replace ‘Marina’ when she left for a church mission.
She has yet to send me the copy of the concert that was held around the mid-late 90s, ( I think it was 95 or 96). She mentioned Emily was a great singer but wasn’t very friendly as she kinda shunned some people for talking to her. But hey, like you said, no one’s perfect, and she was only young then anyway. Everybody has a chance to be reformed right?
She said it wasn’t really that packed, maybe it was due to the fact that no one found out about it until the last minute that they were coming. They said they did the whole ‘marae’ thing for them on the day of their concert. I think it was like a last minute plan for them to travell through her area before heading down
Hey, and anyone know of any good places I can download some good songs from them? I want to know what they are about. Or if they are even known in NZ.
Anyway, I do have in my possession a single by Ma V Elle.
I really don’t want to argue anymore, only takes up too much of my time.
Let’s just say we are both Samoan women who respects our ethnic background and our heritage. Shall we leave it at that then?
Cheers
God Save the Queen
God Bless Australia
And in God We Trust Samoa
Okay Keep It Real, here’s one for you; ( Russell Crowe original)
God Save the Queen
God Defend NZ
God Bless America
In God we Trust Samoa – ( thats mine !)
Sounds good PROUD2BAUSSIE…
Honestly??? No one’s had a chance to come in regarding the “hamo” fit thing as you put it cos obviously its been a one on one thing between you and me!
It doesn’t phase me if the other respectful samoans support me on this or not – its a personal thing! Just take the time to really understand it. If you don’t, then thats entirely up to you!!
Adeaze, Ma-V-Elle, Lolle, Savage, Scribe are so highly looked up to here in NZ as they are sincerely great / natural talent and of course “samoans”. There is a strong
Obviously you have known / heard of Emily before probably why you feel the way you do about her.
If she chooses to pursue a singing career, Emily will need to learn real quick and fast that honesty, maturity and integt
I am a believer in God (just not a regular church figure) and its not God’s nature to get all feisty, but I had time to think re this whole on-line scenario!
I will be the first to apologise if I myself mis-interpreted your knowledge of the whole Aussie Idol thing and happy to say sorry!
PS: Actually, Russell was only born in NZ, but Aussie took him to the next level. Good thing tho, Russell appreciates and takes the best of both lands!!
Sorry, I pushed the wrong button when switching to a word document…
It should’ve read : –
There is a strong harmonious thing with Samoans which I believe is a true blessing from above.
… maturity and integrity.
Before the PS bit, should’ve typed : –
Most of all, God bless you and your children… Take care
i can’t believe you’re all talking about racism for soo long! I’m not aboriginal, but it’s true this is there land! Terra nullius, even the “law” in Australia recognises this and teaches that Australia was “owned” by Aboriginal people when “founded” by the English. Therefore, I believe we are on Aboriginal people’s land with English Law. There should not be any racism from anyone as this country is multi cultural and considering the true founder of this land was the AboriginaL people! No racism from:
Bondy Girl— u are just another lost case from what i heard!
And KEep it Real—- why are you lowering your level and saying abo? this doesn’t suit you.. I think anyone who is rude to you should just shut their mouth because i don’t think you are mean enouigh to be a racist.
As for the rest—- Emily should’ve would’ve but didn’t win.. So thankyou we will build a bridge n get ova it! But to all who know Emily was excellent and not a screecher and really did shine— bless you!
ISABEL,
That’s what anger does to you when someone as bad as Bondy and other supporters could be so disrespectful about the samoan race, but I am definitely no racist.
Abbos, mooksi, niggers, – whatever… none of these are good!
Thanks for your honesty and do apologise to all the aborigines for saying it!
Bondy and your supporters, if you ever come back on-line, have the decency to apologise for your feedback. This will definitely build bridges, not burn them!! I just wish they also appreciate that in EVERY race there’s always going to be certain people to spoil it for everybody else.
This will be the end from me regarding this subject as it was getting long-winded and stale!!
To everybody else…
Good luck to Emily if rumours are lingering she has got a contract with Sony BMG and to any other contestants that received a contract as well.
i think that Kate should of won any way cuz, i mean emily’s voice got soooo flippan anoying!!! Kate worked her F@!**## ass off 2 gt dis far!!! so if any one says she’s a poofter u r one yourslef!!!! besides i gotta boyfriend called jordan and he lovs me sooo much dat he auditioned 4 australian idol [even no he was crap!!!] Ilov ya babe and cn’t wait 2 hv ”IT” wn u cm home!!! c ya peoples of dis earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Keep it Real,
I’ve been reading with what has been happening within this forum and I totally understand where you are coming from when there are those who are disrespectful of others. I’m not Samoan,Polynesian or Aborginal I am a white Australian, however like you would stand up for my own kind if they where showing baldness towards them. These simple-mindedness idiots think they are god’s gift and better then others “We where all put here for a reason” and that reason being to live LIFE! to the best we can not put up with self-righteousness. I applaud you for standing up to these self- minded idiots. My heart goes out to you.
Anyway, for those who would like to know about Emily Williams I have great honor to share with you that Emily as well as Dan England have secured recording contracts with Sony BMG! this information has come from a good source.Being a good friend who works for Grundy Television, the makers of Australian idol. All of the top 4 contestants recieved a recording contract with Sony BMG! A certain person wrote in this forum that Emily is bye-gones and will never get a contract! in also stating she was rubbish BLAH BLAH BLAH! hence the reason they gave Lee Harding a contract before her.Wake up! you have no idea what you are articulating. Yes…. Lee Harding has a recording contract with Sony BMG….Lee was finalising his contract the eve that he was eliminated from the series hence the reason why he wasn’t to bothered about his departure and in also saying “I didn’t really want to sing a mushy love ballad”. Then again his Wasabi song aint the greatest either but surely will aquire the hearts of all the littlies. Emily, is in the process of finalising the contract as well as aquiring songs for her debut cd she feels no hurry as she has no restriction and I guess wants to make sure she is happy with the choices. Dan England will be touring with Shannon Noll in the new year follow by hitting the studios to work on his debut cd. Ive been told the reason with this deterrent is because Sony didn’t want to make the same mistake they did last year when Casey Donavon won idol as we all know Sony gave Anthony Callea a recording contract days after Casey won idol and we all know what happened there. Therefore not giving Casey time to establish herself after idol. However Casey is still very young and I’m sure will make something of herself in the near future. I have nothing against Kate and congratulate her on her win and wish her all the best for the future however before putting a closure to this e-mail I will add it will be very interesting to see what happens! once all the hype of this years idol comes to an end and the New Year is upon us and so will Emily and Dan as they start to initiation there endowment
I just Don’T understand WHY ??????
Emily hasn’t been signed yet !!!
Kate won SO automatically Gets A contract
dan has been signed
Lee has been signed
What The hells going ON !!!!
I want a emily williams Cd For xmas !!!
Peace
Kat :-)

Response:
Obviously I have every idea as to what I “articulate” Emily_fan. Perhaps before you use multisyllabic words, you should at least be correct in the usage of the word.
Now as you your “good friend” who works for Grundy’s.. Well perhaps this “good friend” you speak of isn’t “IN” with Denis Handlin who is the CEO of Sony/BMG..the guy who makes the ultimate decision on who does and doesn’t get signed. Denis stated quite clearly that they would not be signing Emily and citing one of the reasons as being her style is too much like Paulini’s, and they don’t want “like” competition in their talent stable at Sony/BMG. I personally cannot see the comparison as Paulini oushines Emily any day of the week. Anyway, that is the PC reason . One of the main REAL reasons they are not signing her is because at the Aria’s, she went out of her way to dis and ignore one of the Sony head honcho’s and was nothing short of rude to the man. She just should not have played the “DIVA” card when she isn’t one in ANY sense of the word to start with. As I said before, she is her own undoing. This coupled with her poor media skills and her ability to put both feet in her mouth simultaneously, means the “inside goss” from your friend is nothing short of a crock.
If anything her style and genre were more like Cosima’s. If all you Emily fans remember, Emily did 5 or 6 songs Cosima did! Hmm and where did that style and genre get Cosima? Sure as hell not a contract with Sony BMG.
bondy, u make me sick. how could you say that Inala isn’t her home when she’s tha 1 livin there. yeah i no u live there to but so do probably hundreds opf otha ppl. she has more talent than u could even wish for. i mean lets face it if u think ur all that y dont u go try out 4 idol and get as far as Emily got. u wouldnt even make it in ur that full of yourself and ur racist crap. get a life thats away from mine.
Diplomat:
Now aint you the know it all Oh mighty!……NOT. I can tell you my friend from Grundy is differently not spinning garbage as you put it, however you just go on believing what ever you like the “proof” will soon be upon us. In saying this I to assume that my friend is also spinning crap in telling me that Dan England will be touring with Shannon noll in the New Year. Anyway, I can’t be bothered with self-righteousness people like yourself. I know what my friend has shared with me is indeed true so you can go on saying whatever you want I am not going to degrade myself nor argue with a self-centred person like yourself, in all honesty I have better things in my life then to listen to you!
A “DIPLOMAT”…………… Pfffffffffffft
Kate won because she honestly deserved it, i myself hated Emily from day one, i think she is a fake because she is always bloddy crying – oh boo hoo get over it already. she stated in an interview that her daughter lives with her boyfriends parents ( a deadshit might i add) because she didnt feel strong enough as a person to be a good mother for her child, yet she goes in Idol – puh-lease!
at the end of the day, Australia is not racist, we voted for the Australian girl to win, that aint racist, its patriotic andi am proud as punch that the aussie girl won!
EMILY_FAN
Hey, thanks for your kind words and appreciate confirmation that Sony BMG has signed Emily and the other successful contestants!! That’s exciting news for all for them!
DIPLOMAT
What a powerful word…. true meaning? Civil Servant, Ambassador, Envoy, Representative or Public Servant etc.etc… Sorry love, this ain’t you!!! Final!
As for classifying Cosima to Emily?? YOU ARE TONE-DEAF as mentioned from Jane above. I so second, third, fourth to hundred+ that!! Emily & Cosima have different styles… Its funny you only mentioned Emily singing the same songs as Cosima! No doubt other contestants have done the same but you only noticed Emily!! Your comment is so irrelevant. Case closed!
A “DIPLOMAT”……………… Pffffffffffffffffft
Emily_fan wrote:”In saying this I to assume that my friend is also spinning crap in telling me that Dan England will be touring with Shannon noll in the New Year. Anyway, I can’t be bothered with self-righteousness people like yourself”
Response: Dan touring with Shannon Noll was no big hush hush secret as it has been all over the media for the past couple of weeks. Sony made the public announcement on Dec 1st honey. So no that part isn’t crap, but just shows your friend can read. As for you not wanting to “be bothered” with me? Well you responded didn’t you! lol
Keep it Real,
Can’t you get anything right? The true definition of the word Diplomat in the tense I am using it simply means one who has skill in dealing with others, which I do. Perhaps if you were more multifaceted you would realise this.
Re your comment about Emily and Cosima. It is OBVIOUS they follow the same style BECAUSE of their song choices (Emily did at least 5 of Cosima’s choices…one by one…week after week) It doesn’t mean that I believe Emily and Cosima sound alike, but only an idiot like yourself would interpret it as such. I find it amusing though that you would claim that my comments are irrelevant, when the most enlightening thing your fingers have conjoured to this board are racist slurs and the work BLAH repeatedly.
Have a nice day though Keep it Real. As usual it has been “special” ;-)
Before i say anything i gotta say, diplomat? do you think you are superior yourself? if not then dont make fun of someone or something you can’t do or understand got it?
Diplomat Says:
November 28th, 2005 at 9:14 am
I truly cannot believe what I have been reading! Emily has a soprano voice? –> yes she does
Why..because Mark Holden said so? –> yes, and because marcia too
As for Emily having a better voice than Kate? –> ofcourse she does
You are kidding! –> no we are not
I have heard dogs howling at sirens that are less pitchy and more in tune than Emily! –> i think you’re the dog. stupid ass
Emily’s breathing was ALWAYS out her phrasing truly sucked and the over zealous and constant melisma was nothing short of PAINFUL! –> no one feels PAINFUl except yourself. jelous sucker.
Diplomat, i’ve never seen such an uneducated person like you, idiot. have you ever seen kate on inside idol? she was singing to a sick kid. well she didn’t put any feeling into it.she was playing them. cant u even see that ,you stupid lying ass?
You wanna know why she won australian idol? First, because she’s like a blonde barbie doll (not for me). Second, she lives in a big city in melbourne which is overpopulated than Inala in Brisbane. Third, she was trying too hard to win the audience’s attention. And last, when lee harding left the competiton, Kate copied the “just have fun” banner off Lee to win youngsters votes. Then before the final show in the opera house Lee said that “Kate will win” and lee’s Fans all voted for Kate.
I agree with this:
Kate has won Australian Idol, not through her ability to sing, nor her ability to perform – but in her Barbie Doll like appearance. No sane person could honestly believe that Kate was a superior singer to Emily, yet Kate stands in utter disbelief that she has won. The organisers of Australian Idol, need to some how factor in who is voting – not just the raw number of votes. Assigning the same importance to a 12 year olds vote as to an adults isn’t fair to the performers, they are just being cheated.
so merry christmas to you, loser. ( hope you dont get any presents)
from the robertson sisters. tiffany and becky.
Hey Keep it Real,
It was my pleasure, sharing this information with you. Unfortunately as you well know there will always be people like “THE DIPLOMAT” around us. Damn I had a good laugh when you summarised the defination. LOL….. Civil Servant, Ambassador, Envoy, Representative or Public Servant etc.etc He/She aint. ‘IT is just another imbecile, “A know it all” (LOL).
Diplomat:
As for the Shannon NOll and Dan England scenario, OKAY it had been in the media and announced by Sony/BMG the first week of December so very true, moreover this news was known and shared by friend well before that time nevertheless, I guess ‘my so called friend, as you put it is still full of IT..(Ohwell). Whatever!!!!! Just a shame I didn’t know about the preceding’s of this forum before hand!
Keep it real:
You are so RIGHT in also indicating, how diplomat only mentioned Emily’s song choices and comparing them to Cosima’s……..gee lets see now didn’t Lee Harding sing BEN the same rendition that Guy Sebastion sang during the ‘MOTOWN series of Australian idol 2003 and if I remember correctly Guy sang it in a more superior way then Lee and indeed recieved a touchdown for his efforts.Lee on the other hand was damn lucky he had a support group and stayed on, as he commented the night of the verdict show “IT SHOULD OF BEEN ME” leaving. Dan England and Shannon Noll where to on similar grounds with there music choices. Hence the reason why Shannon invited Dan to join him on his tour. (Throw’s my hands up in the air in disbelief). Anyway, keep it real I could go on but hey I’m sure my comments will be irrelvant to the likes of diplomat, so I will close by saying to you have your self a nice day and…….take care.
Talofa ,
Let’s not go there again please!! Let’s not forget that ‘Keep It Real’ didn’t do this on her own. She was coerced by the ‘intelligence’ or lack of from BONDY. Whom we haven’t heard from in a while NOT even apologising for her appalling behaivour. Keep It Real apologised to everyone above.
Talofa ‘Keep It Real’ hang in there girl. Its okay for some to run your down, but they don’t understand it wasn’t YOU that threw the racial slur’s from the beginning!! Just got home from a very long day. You have been busy girl !!!
Emily_fan,
Well it was your job to check out the type of comments on here and only reply to those you know would agree with you if you didn’t want confrontation. I have always believed that Emily’s vocal ability is not what her fans make it and have made that more than obvious on more than one occasion, so my comments really should not be a suprise to you.
As to you “friend” allegedly telling you “inside goss”! lol Well you just agreed that that was no biggie as it has been in the media for a while, so what was the point of your response regarding that? For the record too, Dan E has been signed I know that for a fact but Emily still nothing. Your “friends” wires are well and truly crossed there! lol They don’t want her and as you said time will tell, but it will prove I am RIGHT and your pal at Grundy’s is definately WRONG.
Thank you for pointing out BEN in reference to Guy and Lee, but that was a one off choice by Lee to show a more “tender” side to his abilities. it did not pay off in any way, but I have to say that even though Lee is not my cup of tea, I had a new found respect for him because at least he tried something different to what he is used to. I should mention too that with Emily doing Britney and also Kelly Clarkson, I also had an iota of respect for her there too as she also stepped outside her safety zone, despite the performances being nothing short of rank. See my Emily comments are not all bad, are they! :-)
Again re the Guy/Lee Ben thing. That is not the same thing however as Emily pretty much using most of Cosima’s song list from series one. Unless you don’t like Cosima’s vocals personally, I cannot see how you could read it as a negative as they were obviously wonderful choices and got her into the final 3. For the record too, I personally don’t like Cosima’s vocal style because to me she is far too much of a Celine Dion “wannabe” with her phrasing etc, so vocally NO she is nothing like Emily, except for the fact they choose the same style of songs and Emily is trying to emulate…well who bloody knows? Maybe a cat in heat?
Look Emilyfan, if you are trying to have an arguement to bring out why you believe Emily is the be all and end all, at least give out something viable to work with, ok? Also regarding your comments to Keep it Real about me, I personally don’t see your comments as irrelevant. If you look your bud claimed mine were so I returned a comment to them in kind. Interesting how you overlook the entity to cast the first stone(being keep it real), but hey, “keep it” is on your side regardless right becasue they agree with everything you say so what they say no matter how deteramental to others is Ok with you obviously.
:-)
EMILY_FAN
Obviously you or me are not alone with DIPLOMAT’s comments, (Robertson Sistas and many more).
I’ve heard of Dicko, but now we have DIPPO. The best part is “if you are trying to have an arguement to bring out why you believe Emily is THE BE ALL AND END ALL”. Hahahahahaha…
Who started the arguement first? Cast the first stone? Whatever!! Since you read from the beginning EMILY_FAN, the stone’s long gone!! Short Memory! Its funny how DIPPO’s trying to explain herself so yep, only back-tracking from her own comments to make up for nothing! Its best to ignore!
Anyway, welcome back Polynesian Proud Kiwi.. yes was long, but nice to hear back from you. Wondered where you got to and hope you had a good week. You’re right, we won’t go there!!
HOWEVER…
There is an exception to the rule about name calling and I won’t be apologising for this one!
DIPPO had it comin’!!!
The person who claims Emily is signed need to check the authenticity of their source.
Emily is NOT signed by SonyBMG and their position with this doesn’t look like its going to change.
I’m sorry guys, but I’m afraid Diplomat is right. SonyBMG is not interested with Emily as she is similar to Paulini, and they don’t think Emily has a large public audience as anticipated by a few people on here. ( Likely the fans who didn’t bother voting for her in the first place.)
Emily I’m afraid will probably have to pull a Cosima ( family funded own recording studio) to score herself a record label. But since she claims the family and herself are lacking in the fincancial department, its back to her forklift job I’m afraid.
I for one, agree with SonyBMG decision. While Emily has a great voice, her appeal is very limited and would not last in Australia’s music industry. They would lose more money producing her than selling records.
Jade McCrae, ( I think) is a great singer and songwriter, with a more urban appeal. She is a great RNB artist but I’m afraid even she finds it tough to expand her audience in Australia.
What are the chances of Emily succeeding in the wake of an allround artist like Jade? Not very good I’m afraid.
All of Emily supporters just keep hoping.
The Robertson Sisters,
Wow! There were two of you working on that mind-numbing drivel? How is it you were still incapable of forming a coherant sentence? Mind boggling! The irony is you have the audacity to claim that I am the “uneducated” one!! lmao That was highly amusing and thank you for giving me a laugh to start my day!
Now, Emily is not a “true” soprano as claimed by Mark (also, I never heard or saw Marcia comment on Emily’s vocal range by classification) so that comment by you regarding Marcia, is mere heresay. A “true” soprano has a range of G3 (below middle C4) to F6 above high C6. Emily’s vocal ability does not cut through that range and it IS that simple. Emily is stuck in one octive basically(if that) that ranges from mournful howl to screech! Therefore FACT: – Emily Williams is NO TRUE soprano. Deal with it! You perhaps forget that Mark also claimed that Kate is a Contralto, which is by no other definintion, laughable!
Also, from a technical point, Kate’s vocal ability is far superior to Emily’s and the reason behind this is simple. She has had singing lessons, where as Emily has not. Therefore FACT: Kate’s voice is better than Emily’s. Again, deal with it.
Your childish comments and name calling are not worth responding to individually, but it certainly shows your lack of ability to bring forth qualified, intelligent commentary.
As for Emily’s breathing always being out, AGAIN it is result of her voice being untrained. She sings from her throat and not her diaphram, hence HAVING to use her brandy of dodgy melisma to hit her alleged “money notes”. As I stated before it is much easier to slide up and down a scale than it is to sustain a single note for the same time frame.
Here is the thing Ms’s Robertson. I have been in the music industry for decades now, so my opinion is a learned one, unlike your BS.
Also, Bendigo is NOT a city or a suburb even close to Melbourne! It is a regional town well over an hour away from the outskirts of Melbourne metro area and your arguement that Kate won because of support “from” this alleged BIG CITY alone, is nothing short of ludicrous, unless you are assuming that Emily’s only voting fan base came only FROM her “town” of Inala too? If that is the case you are certainly underestimating your fellow Emily fans who are obviously all over the country! Maybe it was more the fact that Kate’s fans actually have disposable income TO vote for her. She obviously appeals to a more articulately and intellectually honed demographic that is for sure, considering the examples I have seen of some Emily fans on here (that includes you two)!! lmao If you were all in a loaf of bread, the poor loaf would still be 13 slices short! ( I am being kind here).
What I find most amusing about all of this, is you people seems to believe that what you think of me actually matters to me! lmao All I can see is disgruntled fans looking for any opportunity to bash someone not in their corner. My comments as to Emily have not stooped to the personal level over all and have pretty much just stuck to her technical vocal ability which is close to non-existant. My opinion of why her vocals suck has nothing to do with why she didn’t win. That is all of her ‘FAN”S doing. Perhaps if you were the dedicated fans you profess to be, then your “girl” would have crossed the finish line as # one. Spit your sour grapes back at yourselves! You let her down!
It is more than apparent that the majority of voters wanted Kate to win..end of story. It is obvious though that Sony BMG also agree with my synopsis of it all as they, despite what Emily_fans little pal says to her, have no intention of signing her, but have instead preferred to go with the #3 and 4th place getters, being Lee and Dan. Like I do, they KNOW talent when they see it and sign it quick smart! Emily however is STILL waiting for that call that will never come and she has all of YOU to thank for that! Nice to see you all backed her when it came to the crunch!!
Oh, and a Merry Christmas to you, oh conjoined at the brainstem ones! :-) I already got my pressie early. Kate has a recording contract and Emily doesn’t! lmao What more COULD I want??
Keep it real..
Wow, how many sleepless nights did it take for the lightbulb to flash with your little “DIPPO” gem?? lol
I have no problem with being equated with Dicko by the way as he is a call it as he see’s it kinda bloke, so thank you for the compliment!
.
PROUD POLYNESIAN KIWI
It’s been a pleasure meeting you on-line and wish you a Merry Christmas and a Fab New Year for 2006.
This goes for your family, extended and extended families!!
Manuia le Kelisi masi ma le tausaga fou!! God Bless..
Yeah funny re the negativity eh? Oh well, Emily’s a survivor!! She’ll be right!
KAN’T BELIVE IT!!
DIPPO (big difference from DICKO)…
Dicko is highly respected… That’s okay, give yourself credit, cos no-one else will!! A second to figure that out!
DIPLOMAT… True Meaning? (once again)…
Civil Servant, Ambassador, Envoy, Representative or Public Servant …
DIPPO… True Meaning?
Dip-wit (silly
Talofa Keep It Real,
Hope your well too, I’ve been busy with work, church, kids-especially!!! Particularly around Christmas time. I plan to go home and spend time with family, extended, extended families !!
Still negativity regarding Emily, – annoying? compared to Cosima? Paulini better than Emilly? NO WAY, Emily where ever you are. I know you’ll soon prove everyone wrong.
All the best ‘Keep It Real’ for 2006 and everyone else who believes in EMily the gutsiest performers in Australian Idol.
Well actually, the inside story here in Bendigo is that Kate’s father, a very well off Toyota deal, SMS’d over 400,000 SMS’s. He was handing out phone cards to his employees left right and center, also roumoured to have been using a mass dialer machine. It’s not talent that counted in this competition, it’s how much money ya daddy has.
DIPPO…
My racist slurs???
What’s happening in your country??? BIG BREAKING NEWS!!!! The whole world is watching on the news!!
Even in boxing, beer bottles / cans etc.. being thrown at Mundine cos of Green turning the people against him!!
What’s going on over there??? Not a great start esp. with Christmas around the corner.
Whose racist now???
Your own reporters are shamed to be called Australians cos they never thought this could ever happen in Australia!!
Keep it,
This is one thing I agree with you on and I am truly mortified by the behaviour! I personally never expected the likes of what has been happening in the past couple of days, especially in Cronulla and Marrickville to be happening here either, but considering we are now a Mini Me version of the USA, all of the intense gang warfare BS was bound to happen at some point and I also believe that the current Australian government has a lot to answer for with regard to feeding the racist tendencies of a lot of whites in the Aust. Community as a whole., specifially towards those of middle eastern descent or those who practise the teachings of Islam these days (hence the real reason for the attacks on Mundine..he is a Muslim). The facts are, some people are stupid enough to believe everything they are told or read in the news media despite it more often than not being mere heresay, but that doesn’t stop them from making a resolute decision on how they “feel” about certain issues or races based on nothing BUT BS and these same idiots act out on these “feelings, showing themselves to be worse that those they are lead to believe are “evil”. Sorry Keep it, stuff like this is a real soapbox issue for me and if I went on, you would know all my views on the heinous acts I believe westerners have made other cultures in the world have to endure through their greed and lust for power. I will stop now though as this particular discussion doesn’t really fit into the Emily V Kate arena.
Now as to my comment to you regarding your racial slurs? Well you did make them to others and I pointed out the fact that you did. If you want to compare what you wrote to the actions of certain Australians in an attempt to make your actions seem slight, then so be it but it does not work for me. Racism is racism, whether acted out physically, verbally or just in writing. All of it is wrong. For the record too, I do recognise Bondy was making racial slurs at you too so it was not completely one sided, but I never for one second insinuated it was.

” SonyBMG is not interested with Emily as she is similar to Paulini, and they don’t think Emily has a large public audience as anticipated by a few people on here.

Thank you for the clarification and it is nice to see that at least one person on here these days is in agreement with me on this point! lol
As for Emily and being signed. I think it will be interesting to see what happens late Feb – early March 2006, when she is free to be pursued by other companies, as to whether Mark Holden will put his money where his mouth is and ensure she is signed with a leg up from his own MarJac productions!! I personally don’t think he will put his hand up! He wants to make money, not lose it.
I also agree with you about Jade McCrae! She is a wonderful vocalist and a very talented songwriter and doesn’t get the kudos she obviously deserves!

He was handing out phone cards to his employees left right and center, also roumoured to have been using a mass dialer machine. It’s not talent that counted in this competition, it’s how much money ya daddy has. ”
That is so untrue, I reckon your nose is growing, Pinocchio! What if Paul DeAraugo was to see the slanderous comments you are making on here about him? Are you wishing for a libel suit for Christmas or what?
DIPLOMAT..
Thank you. Appreciate your comments. I hope there will be some PEACE there soon esp. coming close to Christmas. All the best…
